I bought the CD version and I was shocked when I heard it. I played the compilation on a random setting. The first track to play was one of my favourite Adam's tracks "Cloud 9" which I now owned for the first time. I couldn't believe my ears it sounded distorted, with a kind of blared muffle sound. This was not how I remembered hearing this song. I tried to make it sound better by making some sound settings adjustments, but no, there's no correcting the damage done to this track, it's woeful. I continue to listen to the rest of the CD. It seems to me that this whole compilation has just been cranked up to the hilt by some over zealous rock sound engineer, who's credits are missing from the CD inlay card by the way. Is that why we see Mr Adams holding his hands up to his ears on the lyrics page of "Ultimate Love", I wonder? Another of my favourites was found to desecrated "Here I Am", sounded as bad as 'Cloud 9' but only more so. One track was missing from this collection though, "Don't Give Up" but as much as I would have like to have seen it on this album, I'm kind of glad It wasn't now. I am astounded how great artists like Bryan Adams are not taking more care with the release of their music to such releases like this. Especially when Bryan made a comment himself on the inlay card regarding the production of CDs in the future. How is it in this day and age such reputable music companys as Polydor/Universal can issue recordings of such poor quality. There should be a recall of this release.Lastly, I am considering getting myself a copy of Bryan Adams Anthology as I would hope there is a better sound quality on that release. No one seems to have made a review of it yet. If anyone reads this review and has a copy of it and would like to advise me, I would be most interested to here what you might have to say. All those who previously reviewed this release were spot on. I am just sorry now I didn't take heed of what they had to report.
Hi Scanner, I guess your right, but I do state at the beginning of my review that it is the CD version I am talking about. Anyway CD or vinyl there is the principle of the matter which I speak of in my review of this release, or any other, in paragraph four. The buyer is entitled to the same high quality sound reproduction no matter what the format. There should be no prejudice in that. Things such as this need to be exposed and high - lighted to all. I just hope Mr Adams catches word of it too.
Just some cents of mine, when you review a CD, why not leaving the review at the corresponding CD version?
Album is ok, sound is flat but are fine, a lot of good songs, my copy is pressed in france
I bought the LP recently. Very poor quality mixing/mastering/pressing. Flat, muffled highs in all tracks, like a low quality mp3. I listened the album in Spotify, sounds fine. So I don't recommend the Vinyl version. I haven't listened to the CD but I suppose that version is better maybe they used less compression to fit the songs onto CDs... I wonder why they released this album to vinyl if they couldn't find a decent engineer for mixing to LP.
Is anyone else noticing it's running really slow ? I'm finding the songs on the inner groove are much slower speed than 33rpm ?

Great Bryan Adams fan and was happy to get this LP set for my Christmas present. The song selection is what I would expect to be for a greatest hits barring a few glaring omission such as "In the Heat of the Night". However, I noticed that "Here I Am" is a different version than the original and "Everything I Do" has been cut down to a "radio edit".Quite honestly, the entire remastering job, sounds flat/muted. I have "So Far So Good" on vinyl and it has much more punch and sparkle to it than this version and that one was pressed on a 100g vinyl at the most. It sounds like a live concert the way it was recorded. The volume level on "Ultimate" is also considerably lower than the other. My baseline volume is 30%. For "So Far So Good", I need to turn it down to 25% whereas for "Ultimate", I need to crank it up to 35%.Considering "So Far So Good" is not as readily available on vinyl, most people will be happy with this collection.
Perfect coincidence as i wanted the "So Far So Good" Compilation for some time and now this was released :) Great! The only small downer is that track B1 - "Here I Am" is a bit different to the at least I'd say "most common" version you know (from the original music clip for example).€: by the way, pressing quality is good!
